The Rundown

M&A season didn't take the weekend off. Kustom, the two-year-old Klarna spinoff, absorbed Vipps MobilePay's entire Checkout division in a deal worth up to NOK 490 million, instantly adding 3,000 merchants across Norway and Denmark. Meanwhile, Soderberg & Partners quietly swallowed Insurello, the Swedish insurtech that helped consumers recover over SEK 1 billion in forgotten claims. Telavox made its eighth acquisition, grabbing Gothenburg's Frontdesk for up to SEK 200 million. On the merger front, MATCHi and Eversports combined their sports booking platforms to create a 9,000-venue giant backed by Verdane. In funding, Antrino Labs (the former Preventai) landed SEK 40 million to scale video AI surveillance from 200 to 5,000 cameras. And Finland's Vendep Capital closed EUR 80 million for its fourth B2B SaaS fund. Six stories, four countries, one busy week.

Kustom Swallows Vipps MobilePay Checkout for NOK 490M

Stockholm's Kustom just pulled off the biggest checkout acquisition in Nordic payments this year. The former Klarna Checkout spinoff paid up to NOK 490 million for Vipps MobilePay's merchant contracts, adding 3,000+ merchants and NOK 7 billion in annual transaction volume. The deal was partly funded by a SEK 367 million investment from Resurs Bank, announced the day before. Vipps MobilePay keeps its 12-million-user digital wallet and sharpens its focus there, while Kustom becomes the recommended checkout partner across the Nordics' most-used payment app.

Insurello Sold to Soderberg & Partners After Eight Years

Insurello, the Stockholm insurtech that automated insurance claims recovery, has been acquired by financial advisory giant Soderberg & Partners. Founded by Marcus Janback in 2016, Insurello helped Swedish consumers reclaim over SEK 1 billion in insurance money they didn't know they were owed. The acquisition, handled by Mannheimer Swartling, gives Soderberg & Partners a technology engine for automated claims processing across its corporate client base. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Telavox Buys Frontdesk in Its Eighth Telecom Rollup

Malmo-based Telavox has acquired Gothenburg competitor Frontdesk at an estimated enterprise value of SEK 150 to 200 million. It's the eighth acquisition for the cloud communications company, which has been systematically consolidating Nordic B2B telecom. Frontdesk grew revenue 60% over two years to roughly SEK 100 million, serving 3,500 customers. Telavox funded the deal through cash and bank loans but signaled it may bring in external investors for future growth.

MATCHi and Eversports Merge Into 9,000-Venue Sports Platform

Gothenburg's MATCHi and Vienna's Eversports have merged to create Europe's largest sports and wellness booking platform. The combined entity covers roughly 9,000 venues: MATCHi's 3,500 racquet sport locations across Spain, Italy, and the UK, plus Eversports' 5,500 fitness studios in Central Europe. Growth investor Verdane, which held stakes in both companies, engineered and backed the deal. The merged teams plan to build AI-driven capacity optimization and automated scheduling features.

Antrino Labs, formerly known as Preventai, raised SEK 40 million from Pomonagruppen at a SEK 240 million valuation. Co-founders Abdulla Salman and Noor Latif plan to scale from 200 connected cameras to 5,000 within twelve months. Microsoft is contributing SEK 2.3 million in cloud infrastructure, and Nvidia is providing SEK 4.7 million in compute resources plus a synthetic data partnership.

What to Watch

  • Mashup 2026 kicks off in Malmo on April 15 with a Robotics and Physical AI track. The invite-only event brings Nordic founders and VCs together for two days of panels, pitches, and (apparently) karaoke.

  • The ISP regulatory review of Antrino Labs' Pomonagruppen investment is expected to close by late April. Approval would clear the path for the company's ambitious camera deployment plan.

  • Kustom's merchant migration from Vipps MobilePay Checkout starts rolling out this month. Watch for merchant churn data as the transition progresses.
