The Rundown

Monday brings a stacked issue. The headline story is Einride's $113 million PIPE and its $1.35 billion SPAC merger headed for the NYSE, a brave play after every EV SPAC from the last cycle ended badly. Stockholm's Agaton broke out of stealth with $10 million in seed funding and revenue already on the books, which isn't how most launches work. Over in Finland, Norsepower dropped a third-generation rotor sail that pairs aerodynamic upgrades with an AI-driven control platform. Danish biotech Mycoverse raised EUR 2.4 million to fight potato blight with fungi. Verigraft secured SEK 110 million from a single shareholder for pivotal transplant trials. EasyTranslate made its second acquisition in 18 months. And Nordic Semiconductor turned the EU Cyber Resilience Act into a product feature. Seven stories. Four countries. All worth your time.

Capital Moves

Agaton (Stockholm) raised $10 million in seed funding, co-led by Inception Fund and Alstin Capital. The AI sales intelligence startup was already generating millions in ARR before publicly announcing its existence. The platform uses agentic AI to analyze customer conversations in real time, detecting buying intent and churn risk for enterprise teams. Angels include Peter Sarlin (Silo AI) and Kieran Flanagan (HubSpot).

Mycoverse (Copenhagen) closed a EUR 2.4 million pre-seed round co-led by Future Food Fund and HTGF. The AgTech startup is building AI-powered fungal crop protection, starting with potato late blight. Total funding now stands at EUR 4.3 million including prior backing from Denmark's BioInnovation Institute. PINC, the venture arm of Finnish food company Paulig, also participated.

Verigraft (Gothenburg) secured SEK 110 million (approximately EUR 10 million) from an existing long-term shareholder. The regenerative medicine company will use the funding to advance Phase II/III pivotal trials for personalized tissue transplants in Europe and the US. Verigraft completed its first-in-man clinical trial in October 2025.

Deals & Exits

Einride (Stockholm) raised $113 million in an oversubscribed PIPE to support its proposed SPAC merger with Legato Merger Corp. III at a $1.35 billion valuation. EQT Ventures participated. The autonomous and electric freight company plans to list on the NYSE under ticker "ENRD" in H1 2026. Total committed capital now stands at roughly $213 million, with expected gross proceeds of $333 million.

EasyTranslate (Copenhagen) acquired Danish translation agency Translated By Us, its second deal in 18 months after World Translation in September 2024. The acquisition is the first executed under EasyTranslate's institutional partnership with Pride Capital Partners, Danske Bank Growth, and EIFO. The company is running a SaaS-enabled roll-up strategy, migrating agency operations onto its HumanAI platform.

Building & Shipping

Norsepower (Finland) launched its third-generation mechanical rotor sail, pairing the new Norsepower Wind Edge (10-20% thrust boost) with the Norsepower Sentient Control (NPSC) platform. NPSC uses direct sail-force measurement, not just wind data, to continuously tune rotor speed. New 4m and 5m diameter options. Over a decade of operational experience across commercial fleets.

Nordic Semiconductor (Trondheim) launched a lifetime flat-rate FOTA and device management license through nRF Cloud. The move positions IoT manufacturers for EU Cyber Resilience Act compliance ahead of the 2027 enforcement date. One upfront fee replaces ongoing cloud costs. Pre-integrated across Nordic's entire low-power wireless portfolio.

The Policy Wire

Nordic Semiconductor's FOTA launch is as much a policy story as a product story. The EU Cyber Resilience Act, which takes effect in 2027, requires manufacturers to provide security updates for connected devices throughout their lifetime. Nordic's lifetime license model converts that regulatory mandate into a competitive advantage for its chip customers. Meanwhile, the EU's Farm to Fork Strategy and its 50% pesticide reduction target by 2030 creates the regulatory tailwind behind Mycoverse's biological crop protection play.

What to Watch

  • Einride's SPAC vote and potential NYSE listing. If the Legato merger closes in H1 2026, it'll be the first autonomous freight company to go public via SPAC since the mechanism fell out of favor. Watch redemption rates closely.

  • EasyTranslate's European expansion pace. Two acquisitions in 18 months with institutional backing suggests a third isn't far behind. The company has explicitly flagged broader European rollout as the next phase.

  • CRA compliance deadline pressure. Nordic Semiconductor moved first with lifetime FOTA. Expect competing IoT chip vendors to announce similar offerings as the 2027 enforcement date approaches.
